Private Letters (プライベートな手紙)
One of my cousins lost her parents years ago.
The other day, she finally started clearing out their house, no one lives in anymore.
She found a lot of letters there.
They were letters exchanged between her parents when they were young and hadn’t gotten married yet.
She was interested in them and wanted to read them.
She thought the letters would reveal things about her parents that she never knew.
However, her husband said that she shouldn't read them since her parents hadn’t given the letters to her nor allowed her to read them.
Now, she can’t decide whether to read them or just throw them away without reading them.
I told her that if I were her, I would read them.
However, I will keep in mind not to leave anything I don’t want others to read after my death.
