いつもより早めの答案記入ですが、今回はすこし難しげですね。

仮定法で書かれた表現は時制の一致の影響を受けないことが多いと思いますが、これはなぜなのだろうと考えていました。
「仮定法過去」「仮定法過去完了」における「過去」「過去完了」は、「時制」をあらわすのではなく、単なる「記号」とか「型」とかに過ぎないですよね。
Grammatical mood (法) を表現しどういう mode (様態) であるかを示すための「手段」であるとも言えると思います。

それゆえ、「時制の一致」の影響を受けさせると文意に混乱を引き起こすことになるので、「時制の一致」の影響を受けさせないこういう形ができていったのかなぁと想像しています。

従属節の内容が一般的真理である場合、現在でも真実である場合、普遍的真理を表す場合は、現在形にするのが普通であるという文法書の説明を参考にしました。１）については

１９４５年という時点で終わったという事実なので、過去形にしました。５）はもし動詞が

現在形であればHe speaks as if he were an American.なので、spoke であれば

一つ前の過去、つまり過去完了になると考えhad been にしました。６）も同様です。

しかし、Biligualの息子は５）、６）ともに　were を選びました。もちろん自然に選んでいるので理由を説明してもらえませんでした。

そろそろ校正の仕事なので手短に回答します。



(1)ended

「本には第2次大戦が1945年に終わったと書いてある。」

ニュース表現ならendsのような気が？？

しかし本の場合はどうなんでしょう？



(2)is

「誰が地球は丸いことを発見しましたか？」

普遍の真理だから現在形？

しかしそれまで誰も丸いと思っていないから過去完了？

う～～～ん。とりあえず現在形にしました。

しかし過去完了でも納得できます。



(3)is

訳がわかりません……単純にoftenがあるので習慣にしました。



(4)is

「この本が面白いと気づくはずだよ。」

本の中のインクがうねうね動いて、

途中から面白くなる、なんてことはないからis



(5)were

had beenだと途中で人種が変わるような……？？

「お前の母ちゃん何人だ！（CV:高橋美佳子）」

「スージーはもっと若かったらなぁ、と言った。」

これは仮定法でsheなのにwereを使って

ウソ臭さ全開にしているのがいかにも英語らしいッス。

というのは明治時代から言われて、未だに必要になってないですよね……。

時制とか本当に苦手です。
