アメリカ英語の学習者に多い英語の間違い17個

iknow!のブログを読んだんですけど、どういう順番で並べたのかわからないけどわかりにくいと思ったので、自分のおさらいをかねて自分でわかりやすいようにまとめます。
もう間違えないもの、わかっているけどついうっかりやってしまうもの、しらなかったものなどありました。


◯ I would appreciate it if you could call me today.
× I would appreciate if you could call me today.

appreciateは他動詞で後ろに目的語が必要

② 「全部食べた」
◯ I ate it all.
× I ate all.

○I ate everything.

③ 部屋の中などで「(その場所が)気に入った」と言う時
◯ I like it here.
× I like here.

likeの後には目的語が来る必要がある

部屋の中などで「ここ寒いね」と言う時
○ It’s cold in here.
× It’s cold here.


◯ Congratulations!
× Congratulation!

○ Congratulations on getting a new job!
○ Congrats!


◯ Where are my glasses?
× Where is my glasses?

「眼鏡」は常に複数形


◯ The police are coming.
× The police is coming.

“police” は集合体としての「警察」という意味なので、常に複数扱い

警察官が一人だけ来ている場合
○ A policeman is coming.
○ A police officer is coming.


◯ Our headquarters are in Japan.
× Our headquarter is in Japan.

「本部」を意味する “headquarters” は常に複数形

⑧ 「質問はありますか?」
◯ Do you have any questions?
× Do you have any question?

「アイデアはありますか?」
○ Do you have any ideas?


◯ Thank you for all the information.
× Thank you for all the informations.

informationは不可算名詞

○ Can you give me some information?
× Can you give me an information?”


◯ I lost weight.
× I lost my weight.

○△ I lost 1 kg.
○ I lost 2 pounds. アメリカではこう言う方が自然かもしれません!(1poundは約0.454kg)
矢印上下
○ I gained weight.
○ I put on weight.

○ How much do you weigh?


◯ I’d like my eggs soft-boiled.
× I’d like my eggs half-boiled.

○ I’d like my eggs hard-boiled.” と言います。

目玉焼きを半熟にしてもらいたい時は、
○ I’d like the yolk to be runny.


◯ I look forward to meeting you.
× I look forward to meet you.

look forward toの後には名詞が来る

○ I look forward to the party.


◯ I live in the United States.
× I live in United States.

”United Kingdom” も、同じく “the” が必要


◯ I make mistakes easily.
× I’m easy to make mistakes.

⑮ 「昨日の写真を送るね」
◯ I’ll send you the photo from yesterday.
× I’ll send you the photo of yesterday.

「2週間前の写真を送るね」
○ I’ll send you the photo from two weeks ago.

⑯ 「どちらでも良いです」
Either is fine.
× Which is fine.

選択肢がいろいろあって、「なんでも良いです」
Anything is fine.

⑰ 「4人家族です」
We are a family of four.”
× My family is four.

レストランなどで「何名様ですか?」と聞かれた時、2名だったら
○ two
○ We are a party of two.

単数複数の表現など、書いてじっくり考えればわかるのですが、会話になるとちゃんと言えないことが多いです。 
>部屋の中などで「ここ寒いね」と言う時   ○ It’s cold in here.
これ知りませんでした。 hereの前はいつもin はつかないと思っていました

だって「眼鏡」は1個ですものー(>_<)

アメリカとかあまり生卵を食べないんですよね?そこで半熟にしてもらうのは・・・危険でしょうか^^;

It's cold here.は、屋外ならいいのかしら?
それとも It's cold out here. って言わなきゃならないのかな?
元ブログ見たら、It's cold here. が間違いとまでは書いていないね。

I like it here. は、映画によく出てくるので知っていました。

私なら、Two of us. って言いそうだなあ。
