私も早く英語で日記が書けるようになりたい・・・・・

家政婦は見た！・・・。あ、違う、あーすさんでしたね。

・・・多分家政婦さんになれると思います、そして難問を解決してほしいです。



英語でもすごくよく伝わりますね。このシリーズ、好きです。

　やさしい単語と構文しか使えないので、これでもかなり頭をひねっております。全然サクサクかけません。独りよがりかな、通じるかな、ここにはどんな前置詞が、といつも悩んでいます。でも、とりあえず日本人の方には通じているようで、少し努力のかいがあったと励まされました。ありがとうございます。

英文を書くのなら Lang-8 がお勧めです。添削者の品質は保証されないですが、この文は不自然だとか、普通使わないとか、いろいろ教えてくれますよ。

I always do the same thing as the middle aged woman. What is more, I leave things I bought and I turn back to the store to get them. mmm.....

I witnessed this at a store that sells almost all of *its* goods for one hundred yen.

A middle-aged woman *was* thinking still about something at a table near the checkout counters. And then she asked a young woman *at the cash register:*

middle-aged woman: “Hey, Miss! I asked you about something a short while ago, didn’t I? Do you remember what it was?”

young cashier: “Yes, ma’am. You asked me where *the* clothespins were.”

middle-aged woman: “Oh, yes, clothespins! I’m glad *I asked you*! I couldn’t remember what to buy. Ha,ha,ha! It’s lucky you are young.”

Earthさん、this was almost perfect just as you wrote it!

When we refer to individuals in a dialog situation, as above, it's not necessary to use "a" or "the"... so as you can see, I just wrote "middle-aged woman" and "young cashier".

I changed "I'm glad" to "I'm glad I asked you", because usually when we say "I'm glad" we state the reason we are glad immediately afterward. If we don't state the reason, and just say "I'm glad", the reason we are glad must be clear from something just said by the other party.

Before I give you examples, I want to say something about "glad". "glad" expresses pleasure or happiness, but it also often expresses a sense of relief. For example,

A: "I heard you were in a car accident last week!"
B: "Yes, but it was minor, just a fender bender. No one was hurt."
A: "Oh, I'm glad to hear that."

A: "Are you enjoying your vacation?"
B: "Yes, it's been fun, but I'll also be glad to get home again."

A: "Did you invite Eric to the party?"
B: "Yes! He said he can make it."
A: "Oh, that's good, I'm glad."

One last thing... you might have used the verb "ponder" where you wrote "thinking still about something" (actually, we usually say "still thinking about something"). So you could say, "A middle-aged woman was pondering something at a table near the checkout counters."

I know people suggest lang-8 to you, and you might want to use it, but you also have English speaking friends here at smart.fm who are happy to help as well. :D So I hope you feel free to keep posting here also.

Some friends here recommend lang-8, so I put this journal on it today.

An native speaker gave me a comment that the expression, an middle-aged woman, is rough, so I shouldn't use the word. Is it so? Would you give me your opinion?

I don't quite understand the comment that "a middle-aged woman" is rough... no. Perhaps if I saw the comment in context, saw what this native speaker wrote, I would understand better what he or she was thinking. Perhaps it was a young person who thinks being middle-aged is undesirable and so it is rude to call someone that? :D I'm really not sure...

1.どんどん書く事でしか英語で書く力はつきません、

日本人同士でも英語で意見の交換ができます。



２．一人のいわゆる　Native English speaker がこう言ったとかいっても１００％正しいわけでは有りません、家庭環境、教育程度が異なります、

日本人でも日本語の使い方に差があるのと同じです。

Of course I understand "Different individuals have very different perspectives on the same fact.", and on the same expression as well.

A typical example is 「初蜂（鳥）」 written by anyaさん。　We Japanese have some opinions about only one word, 「やつら」。

Anyway I like my friends here very much and their comments are very helpful. So I continue posting my journals in English here at smart.fm with strange mistakes.
