久しぶりの類義語調査ですね。私もまだ保留中の類義語があったりしてｗ

以前勤務していた自動車会社で、海外向けの仕様書の中にequipmentという項目がありました。gyutakuさんの解説の通り、いくつかのtoolが装備されてました。tool boxというのもその中にあったかな。多分ナットやレンチとか、手で持つtoolを入れるためのboxですよね。

当時、車関係の専門用語を覚えたものの、肝心のコミュニケーションができなきゃ意味がないんだよなあ・・・。と思う今日この頃。

おかげさまで 3つの単語のイメージが固まってきました。 instrument は、どちらかといえば tool よりも精工なものっぽいですね。

あと道具といえば gear もあるのですが、これも equipment と同じように複数の tool が集まったもので uncountable になっていました。 何かのアクティビティをするときに必要な道具一式みたい。

I was interested in the fact that , in the dictionary, "tool" and "equipment" seems related to "male".
Man is used as useful tools at any time and place.
Hahaha.
