仕事の話題などで、例えば「私の仕事（私に与えられた役目）は社員の教育です」なんていいたいときに、どんな単語を使えばいいかがいまひとつわかりません。
思い当たる単語を調べてみました。

role [noun]
the way in which someone or something is involved in an activity or situation, and how much influence they have on it
⇒誰かあるいは何か活動や状況に参加する方法であり、どの程度それに影響を持っているかである

He takes a large role in the company.
⇒彼は社内で重要な役割を担っている

って感じで、"role"⇒「役割」と置き換えることが確かにありますが、これは効果や貢献といったニュアンスであって、与えられた仕事という感じではないなぁ。

task [noun]
a piece of work that must be done, especially one that is difficult or unpleasant or that must be done regularly
⇒やらねばならない仕事の一部であり、特に難しい、楽しくない、あるいは継続して行わねばならないもの

これはしっくりくる感じがします。

My task is to educate employee.
⇒私に与えられた仕事は社員の教育です。

mission [noun]
2. an important job that someone has been given to do, especially when they are sent to another place
3. something that you feel you must do because it is your duty [= calling, vocation]
4. the purpose or the most important aim of an organization
⇒誰かに与えられる重要な仕事で、特に他の場所に送られて行うもの
⇒義務感から行わねばならないと感じている何か
⇒組織の中で最も重要な目的

「派遣された人」に与えられる仕事、ってところが面白いですね。
あとは、3番のようにプライベートな事もミッションになりうるし、4番のように組織に使うこともある、と。

duty [noun]
1. something that you have to do because it is morally or legally right
2. something you have to do as part of your job
⇒モラルとしてあるいは法的に行わねばならない何か
⇒あなたの仕事の一部としてやらねばならない何か

うーん。
確かにdutyは仕事の一部なんでしょうけど、私が伝えたいニュアンスとは微妙に違う気がする。
いい例が思い浮かばないが、なんとなくそんな気がする。

他には、コロケーションのコースで習った take charge in (something) も使えそうだなぁ。

I took charge of the in-house education.
⇒私は社内教育に関する責任者です

と、ほとんど独り言になってしまいましたが、とりあえず、roleとmissionが持つニュアンスを確認できたのは、個人的に大きい。
