どちらも「家」と覚えていますが改めて調べてみました。

home [noun]
the house, apartment, or place where you live
⇒house や apartment、あなたが live している「場所」

house [noun]
a building that someone lives in, especially one that has more than one level and is intended to be used by one family
⇒誰かが住んでいる「建物」で、特に一つの家族が住んでいる２階建て以上のものをいう

ってことで、どちらも家には違いないのですが、home は住んでいる場所、house は建物、というニュアンスがやはり強いようです。

in house
if you work in house, you work at the offices of a company or organization, not at home
⇒in house で働くといった場合、オフィスや会社、組織で働くという意味であって、home で働くではない。

という例からも、house = 建物という意味合いの強さがうかがい知れます。

ところで、

home [noun]
the place where a child lived with his or her family
⇒子供が家族と一緒に live してる「場所」

ってことで、home には実家っていうニュアンスがあるようですが、

"Where is your home?"

って質問されたら、やはり現住所ではなく実家の場所を答える方が自然なのでしょうか。

This is an interesting post.
Exactly. Home is more abstract. That is why it is used in various sayings. For example, you can say "I feel at home here" (ここは居心地がいい） but you can't say "I feel at house here".
Also, you can be "homesick" (you miss the place where you usually live - the house, the neighborhood, the country), but not housesick. There is something called "sick house syndrome" (シックハウス症候群) but that's completely different.

Thanks your comment.
I like the phrase, "more abstruct".
I have a sense that it's usuful to explain a meaning of some word.
Not only English but also Japanese.
