this dismal winter day … イギリスの冬の天気はず～っと雨か曇りだそうです。まさに dismal day って感じ。

not so ... as A で A は節である必要があるとあったけど…どうなんでしょ？

be not so much ... as ... な表現もあるようですが今回のとは違いますね。

てっきり make の自然な表現だと思っていました。 (^^；

あれ？やっぱり違うな。
"be not so much 形容詞1 as 形容詞2" が始めに頭に浮かんで、
それを、"make ○○ 形容詞" に当てはめて作った例文だったのです。
なので、私の意図としては、be動詞はやはりいらないということになります。

こういう表現がそもそも妥当であるかどうかはわかっていませんが。
Lang8 で質問しないとだめかな？
