先日 wound (名詞) という単語を調べたところ「刃物や銃による傷」となっていました。
単に傷だと覚えていたのでへぇ～と思ったわけですが、せっかくなので他の種類の傷はどんなもんかと調べてみることにしました。

wound [noun]
1. an injury to your body that is made by a weapon such as a knife or a bullet

cut [noun]
a wound that is caused when something sharp cuts your skin:
⇒何か鋭いものにより皮膚を切られることによりできた傷(切り傷)

scratch [noun]
a small cut on someone's skin
⇒誰かの肌にある小さな切り傷(引っかき傷)

abration [noun]
an area on the surface of your skin that has been injured by being rubbed against something hard
⇒硬いものにこすられて怪我をしている肌表面の部分(擦り傷、擦過傷)

scab [noun]
a hard layer of dried blood that forms over a cut or wound while it is getting better
⇒血液が乾いてできた硬い層で cut や wound がよくなる際にできるもの(かさぶた)

bruise [noun]
a purple or brown mark on your skin that you get because you have fallen, been hit etc
⇒転んだりぶつけたりすることであなたの皮膚にできる紫あるいは茶色の跡(打撲傷、あざ)

sprain [verb]
to damage a joint in your body by suddenly twisting it
⇒急激にひねることにより体の関節を損傷すること(捻挫する)

strain [noun]
an injury to a muscle or part of your body that is caused by using it too much:
⇒過剰に使うことによって起きる筋肉や体の一部の怪我(肉離れ)

pull [verb]
to injure one of your muscles by stretching it too much during physical activity [= strain]:
⇒運動中に筋肉を延ばしすぎて怪我をすること(肉離れを起こす)

pull [noun]
(countable usually singular) an injury to one of your muscles, caused by stretching it too much during exercise:
⇒運動中に筋肉を伸ばすことによって起きる筋肉の怪我(肉離れ)

burn [noun]
1. an injury caused by fire, heat, the light of the sun, or acid:
⇒火、熱、日光、酸などによる怪我(火傷)

#日焼けや酸で焼けるのも burn なんですね。

blister [noun]
a swelling on your skin containing clear liquid, caused for example by a burn or continuous rubbing
⇒皮膚上の透明な液体を含むふくらみで、火傷や継続的な擦れによりできるもの(水ぶくれ)

chilblains [noun]
painful red areas on your fingers or toes that are caused by cold weather
⇒冷たい天気のせいで、赤く痛くなった指やつま先の部分(しもやけ)

chapped [adjective]
chapped lips or hands are sore, dry, and cracked, especially as a result of cold weather or wind
⇒chapped な唇や手は痛く、乾燥し、ひび割れていて、特に寒い天候や風によるものを言う(ひび、あかぎれ)

で、これらを調べているうちに何度か見かけたのが trauma という単語。
日本語のトラウマは、嫌な経験とか、心理的外傷という意味で使われることしかないですが、
医学用語としての trauma は物理的な傷のことを表すそうです。

Trauma refers to "a body wound or shock produced by sudden physical injury, as from violence or accident." It can also be described as "a physical wound or injury, such as a fracture or blow."
