wise も clever もどちらも「賢い」という意味ですが。
どんな違いがあるのでしょうか。
いつものように英英辞書で確認してみます。

wise [adjective]
1. wise decisions and actions are sensible and based on good judgment [= sensible]
2. someone who is wise makes good decisions, gives good advice etc, especially because they have a lot of experience of life
⇒ wise な決断や行動は、理に適っていて良い判断に基づいたものである
⇒ wise な人はその多くの人生経験から、良い判断を行ったり、良いアドバイスを与えたりする

clever [adjective]
1. (especially British English) able to learn and understand things quickly [= intelligent; = smart (AmE)]
2. able to use your intelligence to get what you want, especially in a slightly dishonest way:
3. (especially British English) skilful at doing a particular thing
⇒物事の習得や理解を素早く行うことができる
⇒intelligence を用いて欲しいものを、少し不誠実な方法で手に入れることができる(ずる賢い)
⇒特定のことを行う技術が高い

intelligent [adjective]
1. an intelligent person has a high level of mental ability and is good at understanding ideas and thinking clearly
2. an intelligent comment, question, conversation etc shows that you have thought about something carefully and understand it well
⇒intelligent な人は、知的な能力のレベルが高くアイデアを理解し明晰に思考することが得意である
⇒intelligent なコメント、質問、会話などは、何かについて注意深く考えていて良く理解していることを示すものである

なるほど、

wise は経験に基づくものなので、思慮深く、分別がある、実務的な賢さである
亀の甲より年の功、といったときの賢さは wise ですね。

clever は理解が早いという意味の賢さである
あまり頑張って勉強しなくても学校の授業は大体聞いただけで理解できます、ってのは clever

もう、wise と clever は全く別の意味の言葉に感じられますね。

で、intelligent の定義では、経験に基づくとも、理解が早いとも書かれていませんので、経験豊富さによる intelligent も、頭の回転の速さによる intelligent もあるってことでしょう。


さて、頭の回転が速いという意味の「賢い」には、他に smart, bright があるようです。
見ておきましょう。

smart [adjective]
1. (especially American English) intelligent or sensible [= clever; ≠ stupid]
2. trying to seem clever in a disrespectful way
3. a smart person is wearing neat attractive clothes and has a generally tidy appearance [= sharp (American English); ≠ scruffy]
⇒intelligent あるいは sensible であること
⇒無作法な方法で自分を clever に見せようとすること(生意気な)
⇒smart な人は整った魅力的な服を着て、一般的にきれいな見た目である

bright [adjective]
3. intelligent and able to learn things quickly
⇒ intelligent で物事を早く習得できる

clever(BrE) も smart(AmE) も bright も理解が早いという意味の賢さ。
(smart 定義1では sensible さも含んでいるようですが)
ただ、clever はずる賢い、smart は生意気という意味の場合もありますので、
誰かを褒める時には bright を使っておくのがよさそう。

あと、smart (AmE) と smart (BrE) はぜんぜん意味が違うので注意が必要ですね。
日本語のスマート (細身の体型の意味) はそもそも間違いなので注意。
