Well. No. My brother was born in the year of the dog, so it might be a big year for him.

昨年末にFMラジオを聞いていたら、
「良いお年を！」も　Happy New Year! だと言ってました。
年末も年始も同じ挨拶なんですね。

ということのようですね。これは、意外な和製英語だと思いました。
