こちらには、ねぎさんの書いてた I'm sorry to say ...が使われてますね！
みかぴょんさんの言う「悪いニュースを伝えるとき」は基本この I'm sorry to say ...が「残念ですが・・」て感じで使いやすいかも？
the deal is off とか not do business で「取引しない」という言い方も覚えておきたいなぁ。

not と really の位置関係で意味が変わる文が特集されていました。
I don't really like it. （それほど好きなわけじゃない）⇒ not がreally like を否定
I really don't like it.（ほんとに嫌いです）⇒ really がnot like を否定
