reach には「手を伸ばして届く」という感覚があります。この写真では今まさにかたつむりたちが赤い線のところに着こうとしている様子をThe snails are reaching the red line. で表現しています。電話で連絡をとるときもreach を使い、If anything breaks, you can reach me anytime. 「何かあったら、いつでも連絡してね」といった意味合いです。
