前置詞⑱ beyond
★「越えて彼方に」を表す beyond
The mountains are beyond the river.
beyond のコアは「何かを越えてかなたに」ということで、The mountains are beyond the river. だと「山は川を越えてはるかかなたにある」といった感じです。go beyond the national border は「国境を越える」ということですが、越えてどんどん進んでいくという意味合いがあります。go over the national border とも言いますが、overは「弧を描くように対象を越える」ということで、「かなたに」という意味合いはありません。
