Hawaii留学後。。。

              <img src="http://q-eng.com/img.php?filename=d_13700_1_1373160917.png&w=120&h=120&m=pc" />
              ２月にハワイ留学から帰ってきてから、グローバルビジネスにかかわる部署に行きたいと希望を出し、時間がかかりましたが６月にグローバルビジネス室に移動することが出来ました。

               I went to the Church.
It's one of our assignment, but it's really interesting because if I don't get the chance studying abroad, I will never have experienced such event. I went to the Cathedral of Our Lady and Peace, and I joined Rite of Acceptance Into the Catechumenate. It's interesting.

After that I went to another church, St. Andrew's Cathedral (it's more famous) and Kaumakapili church. After that I went to the Bishop Museum and learned Hawaii's history there.

After that I went to Diamond Head (It's famous in Japan). I climbed up it but it's pretty hard for me to climb.

After coming home, today the host family had some guests, they are their son's girl friend and their neibor couples (who is the owner of Waikiki's Restaurant).

Unfortunately, I couldn't understand what they say very much. I hope I could understand what they say....

The first assignment of the class

Today our class began and the title was Introduction to Public Speaking, and we got the first assignment.

The assignment is preparing for the tomorrow's speech, and my assignment title is 'Should commercial airlines charge for baggage'.

So I prepare the next sentences for my speech.
Can I remember those sentenes by tomorow ?

In the first place, is the content not strange? =)

-----------------------------------------------
My assignment title is "Should commercial airlines charge for baggage?"
At first, I wonder commercial airlines are charging baggage.
Do you know whether airlines now charge for baggage or not?

In Japan, we don’t much care about charge for baggage, because if we don’t’ exceed weight limitation, we don’t need to pay for it.

However, in America, many airlines require travelers to pay to check baggages lately.
Traditionally, airlines would not charge for the first two pieces of checked baggage unless they exceeded weight limitation. That’s similar to Japan. But lately, a lot of airlines started charging even for the first checked baggage.

One of those reasons is the price of fuel. Many airlines cannot get a profit because of the fuel cost.
So they began to require charge for baggage.
It’s the situation of my assignment title, and I consider about the answer of this question.
From a traveler's point of view, no one wants to be charged for baggage.
However, from airlines point of view, checking bags costs a lot beause it needs human cost. and it needs for the safety of the airline.
So my opinion is, Commercial airlines should charge for baggage, but it's only when traveler has over 1 baggage or when they have heavy baggage.
Because if airlines want to cut cost and they don't check baggage at all, the airlines have very high risk. So at least airlines should check baggage.

And if we don’t need to pay without over 1 baggage, we can try to pack our baggage compactly and then we don’t need to pay. So both are happy.

So my opinion is commercial airlines should charge for baggage but it’s only when traveler has over 1 baggage to check or when they have heavy baggage.

That’s all, thanks.

Studying abroad in Hawaii

I was very very busy in Japan and I didn't have a time to write diary. However I came Hawaii now at last! ( My project continue to proceed in Japan, but I can't do any good things more =). Because of shortage of preparation, I had a some tiny trouble in Hawaii, however I finally found my house of home staying and moved today. It's very gorgeous house and very kind family, so they made dinner for us (for me and another student in our class). After dinner, she (host family's wife) recommended us to swim at their pool. So we swam under the sky in the night in Hawaii. It's so beautiful and wonderful.

I bought my prepaid cell phone in the shop of Hawaii. There is no one who can speak Japanese, so I had to bought it in English. That's maybe good experience, too..

By the way, I have very busy life in Japan, and I often worry about time, but all things that I want to need times in Hawaii.
For example, when I wanted to buy my cellphone and went to walmart, 1 customer talked about her cellphone for about 30 minutes and I had to wait to finish their trade... I thought why no other shop worker didn't help, but maybe it's normal thing here.. I gave up to buy cell phone at walmart and went to another cell phone shop and bought it.

I'm now very sleepy and maybe my English has a lot of mistake. However It's good for me to write a lot of things in English within a short time. Maybe my english skill will be improved in the life of Hawaii. (I hope so very much).
